You guys. Do you know how hard it is to come up with a blog name?
In case you don’t, here’s a spoiler alert: it is so hard.
Not only do you have to encapsulate all your hopes and dreams for your baby blog in one short phrase, but you also have to find a name that has an available matching .com.
Well, here are the key things you should know about me and my blog. I’m a lady, I travel solo, and when I say “I travel,” I really mean, “I travel pretty much exclusively within the United States and usually when I’m visiting family or on day trips.” I’m in no way a “traveler” in the travel blogger sense of the word (yet).
That’s why “The Hopeful Traveler” really appealed to me as a name, because that’s what I am—someone who is counting down to future adventures, and ready to start that jet-setting chapter of her life.
I figure there have to be lots of other people out there just like me. People who have dreamed about going somewhere but have never had the means or the opportunity or even the courage. But I don’t seem to find many blogs that align with that…probably because once blogs become easy to find, those bloggers are already expert travelers, right? And any newbies I do seem to come across tend to be just enough younger than I am that I know we’re in different places in our lives, so it can be hard for me to relate.
So here I am, shouting into the internet void. I don’t know if anyone besides my best friend will read this (hi, Monet!), but I think I’ll get a lot of out TheHopefulTraveler.com—even if I’m the only one!
